Welcome to Longholt Woods, the most beautiful natural burial ground in the UK, where Memorial services are uniquely personal and our approach is to offer as little or as much support as you wish. We will discuss your needs and prepare a package which best suits yourself. You may prefer to take the lead in all ways, from assisting with grave digging to conducting a memorial of your choosing.

If required we can help source readings which are appropriate for a memorial service. If required a memorial plaque can be placed during this time, marking the grave and providing a visual remembrance of your loved ones.

We offer a service which is open, flexible and non-restrictive to any desired approach to death, whilst respecting natural death conventions which restrict environmentally harmful practises and encouraged the setting to retain its natural diversity. Burial goods including caskets must be biodegradable and embalming fluids, non – biodegradable grave – markers and scattering the ashes prohibited. Burial is encouraged and where cremation is preferred we allow the internment of ashes.
